Why use TaxationReturnsOnline?

  • Cheap tax return preparation – starts at $73. You can select a way that suits you – Online Phone Post.
  • No need to spend hours completing online forms. Spend just two minutes filling out your important details in our online form and our highly qualified Chartered Accountants will then do all the hard work for you. We do not have automated online systems that calculate everything for you (as the ATO has this) but we prefer to use human eyes and brains to prepare your return and make sure everything is covered.
  • Each tax return will be prepared and lodged by a Chartered Accountant. This will provide peace of mind to ensure that we are able to maximise your deductions. If we need to speak to you for further info, then this will happen free of charge. We believe that is the best way to ensure you are getting what you deserve.
  • We aim to finalise most tax returns within 24 hours of receiving the information from you. If we have any questions, we’ll call or email you to check. Once you return your signed forms, we electronically lodge your tax return with the ATO and usually have your refund in around 7-10 days.
  • As Chartered Accountants we are best placed to prepare not only basic returns but also specialise in the more complex tax matters such as capital gains, rental properties and Australians living abroad. We are happy to give you an upfront quote for this type of work to avoid any surprises.
  • We provide services of the highest quality at a very affordable price. Our base fee covers a fairly typical individual tax return, and any additional fees for more complicated aspects that you may have will be discussed with you before we complete your return..

Professional & recognised accountants

Our Chartered Accountants are certified by the Australian Tax Institute as Chartered Tax Advisers. Attaining this status is a mark of technical excellence, solid tax expertise and professional integrity.

Helpful tips

Many deductions are overlooked. Keep your receipts to claim your maximum benefit.

Home office expenses

Do you work from home?

If so, did you know that in your tax return you can claim 34 cents an hour for work you do at home? This covers heating, cooling, lighting and other expenses.

So, just keep a record of the number of hours you work from home throughout the year and let us know when we are preparing your tax return.

Donations

Yes, it’s great that your donations of $2 or more to a charity are tax deductible. However, please be aware that this only applies to those organisations which are actually registered as ‘Deductible Gift Recipients’.

If you are not sure if a donation is ok to include in your tax return, or if you want to check up a charity before donating to them, then please use the search function on the government’s website. Simply type in their name and you’ll be able to check them out.

Motor vehicle expenses

If you use your car for work, you may be able to use this as a deduction on your tax return too.

While traveling to work and back is not something you can claim, if you drive between two separate places of employment, or if you travel to a customer/supplier, or if you travel to a work course/conference, then you can add this to your tax return.

You are able to keep a detailed logbook of your vehicle use over 12 weeks, however for some this is just too much work.

Thus, the simplest way to calculate your motor vehicle expenses is to claim a deduction for up to 5,000 work-related kilometres for each year.
